Event 1
4/21/20- Since this is our first event... our goal is to reach $1000. Globally, we are all suffering through the covid-19 pandemic, which makes it even harder for Haitian-Dominicans to get food.
Currently, the classes are on hold, but the leading nun, Biula, is working hard to provide the kid's food 2 to 3 days a week. Covid-19 has had a big impact on the Dominican Republic so far with about 145,000 losing their jobs. Many of the Haitian Dominican kids are going hungry because their parents are unable to work and have no savings. Support from the government is limited in the rural areas, especially in this region.
This money will be donated to the school, so the kids have a meal to eat.

And... OUR FIRST EVENT IS DONE! Thank you so much to everyone who donated. The kids really appreciate all the food they were able to receive from the $1000! We just wanted to share what your donations provided the kids.
About 1,100 people received food (150 families with about 7 children).
Each family got 6 pounds of rice, a bottle of oil, a pound of oats, a can of tomato sauce, a pound of noodles, a pound of spaghetti, and 2 pounds of sugar.
This is what were able to get in total! Thank you again for all the donations and the impact you have made on the children and their families.
